I am honored to represent the Appalachia Region as a Triabetes Captain in 2011-2012. I have been both a Type 1 diabetic and an athlete since I was a child. My recent immersion into the world of endurance sports has been a life-altering experience that keeps getting better. Now that I am a Triabetes Captain, I look forward to discovering more about myself as a diabetic athlete and helping other diabetics athletes along the way. Here's to a great 2011 and a solid finish at the 2012 Ironman Boulder 70.3 - can't wait!
